Siru Liu, PhD, FAMIA, is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with a secondary appointment in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. Her clinical informatics research focuses on developing and evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) applications using machine learning and large language models (LLMs), with an emphasis on clinical decision support (CDS), electronic health record (EHR) integration, and patient–provider communication. Her work includes PAIGE, an AI assistant integrated into Epic MyChart to help patients prepare messages for their healthcare providers. PAIGE placed third in the 2025 AMIA/HL7 FHIR App Competition. She is the principal investigator of an NIH/NLM R01 on LLM-powered multi-agent systems for CDS and previously received an NIH/NLM K99/R00 award. She was named a 2023 STAT Wunderkind and earned her PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah.
